Dear Barbara, Wishing you success with your appeals! It is shocking the stress that they have made you feel! However D.L.A does need two attempts for some. Best of luck, Fiona

Thanks for the support. I have appealed and will certainly be in for a battle once I've managed to get my wit's about me; at the moment I feel SO drained and will ask the social worker in the community care rehabilitation team for a supporting letter re my care and mobility needs.
The whole system is mad, even when a nurse faxed a letter to the DWP whilst I was in hospital to say I am not fit for work, the DWP is still sending me letters to attend work related interviews! Now that I am home I've got carers coming in twice a day, and can't get out of my basement flat not alone climb the steps up to the pavement to get to an interview! Anyway, I have told the DWP that as a Public Body they are "not fit for purpose" and are discriminating against me as a disabled person. I just wish they would leave me alone as the whole thing is driving me to despair and could do without the harassment, yes harassment, as they have now taken to calling me at home!
Much love and well wishes,
Barbara XXXXXX

Oh Barbara this is dreadful. It would be good if you can get someone to fight your case and get rid of this harassment. This should not be happening.

Thanks Audrey for the kind offer, I think I've got it all in hand now and have submitted appeals with supporting letters from OT, Physio and GP, if that doesn't do the trick I don't know what will.
love,

Hi Barbara Im so sorry to hear this although I dont know why. The same happened to me! Partly why I have not been on here for so long (as well as another reason - check out my post on Steam Room) I dont know what to say to make you feel better, other than its an utter disgrace. By the way, they tried to base mine in the Medical but I appealed and did at least win that......I had a visit from a really rude woman who I ended up shouting at, I told her not to be rude to me in my own home.she was a B***H which probably didnt do me any favours....I only get the lowest care allowance and no mobility!! But its better than nothing.
Anyway hope to chat soon Love Linda x x

Hi Barbara
I 100% agree with everyone else's support and encouragement. It is a real nightmare for you. Just a thought maybe your local MP could lend some support if you can"t make headway with this bureaucratic nightmare. You are a genuine claimant and should be getting help not harassment.
Love Katharine

Hi Barbara,
I would complain to MP and to Head of DWP. Problem is though people are generally too ill to deal with all this mess. I think the system is in meltdown as its hard to simplify a complex process. Hope you get sorted.
Regards
Mari

Barbara, Did you use Benefits & Work advice guide to complete your DLA application? I'm in the process of renewing mine and thought their guide was invaluable, although time will tell whether or not my claim will be successful (still drafting). Carol
